Chapter 2

सांख्ययोग

Mind-blowing Truth

This chapter is like, the OG of the Gita. Krishna drops some serious knowledge, the ultimate summary of the whole book. It's all about four main things: 1. Arjuna's totally freaking out and is like, 'Krishna, I need your help!' and Krishna is his new guru. 2. The root of all our problems? Not knowing our true selves. 3. Karma Yoga - doing your thing without being attached to the outcome. 4. The ultimate goal: chill AF and have a one-track mind.

Verse 1

Sanjaya said: Yo, this dude was totally vibing with major pity, like, mega-depressed, eyes all watery and shook. Then Madhusudana, aka Krishna, dropped this knowledge bomb:

Verse 2

The Blessed Lord said, "Yo, Arjuna, where'd you get this major case of the sads? This ain't you, it's sus af, and it's gonna totally lock you out of paradise."

Verse 3

Don't be a total wimp, Arjuna, son of Pritha. That's not you. Dump this weak-sauce heart-stuff! Get up, foe-slayer!

Verse 4

Arjuna said, "Yo, Madhusudana, how am I supposed to, like, *actually* fight Bhishma and Drona? They're total legends! I can't even, enemy slayer."

Verse 5

Fr, it's way better to, like, totally humble yourself and accept some handouts than to, like, yeet the most fire teachers. But if I were to, like, actually off them, even in this life, all my drip and good times would be totally stained with their blood.

Verse 6

I'm deadass, I can't even tell if it's better for us to clap them or for them to clap us. Even the sons of Dhritarashtra, who we don't wanna yeet, are all up in our grill.

Verse 7

My heart's all messed up, major pity vibes. My mind's totally confused about what I gotta do. I'm asking you, Krishna: Spill the tea on what's best for me. I'm your disciple, so teach me, I'm all in.

Verse 8

I'm not seeing how this total bummer that's frying my brain is gonna go away, even if I totally slay and get the most uncontested power on Earth or become the ultimate god-boss.

Verse 9

Sanjaya said: After dropping all that knowledge on Hrishikesha, the ultimate senses lord, Arjuna, the sleep-conqueror and foe-destroyer, was like, 'No cap, I'm not fighting,' and then went silent.

Verse 10

Yo, Arjuna was totally vibing in the middle of both armies, super stressed. Then Krishna, all smiles, was like, 'Bet.'

Verse 11

The Blessed Lord said, "Bro, you're stressing over people you shouldn't even be stressing over. But, you're dropping some truth bombs. Wise people don't even sweat the living or the dead."

Verse 12

No cap, I've always been, you've always been, and these peeps in charge have always been. And we ain't ever gonna cease, no way, no how.

Verse 13

Yo, it's like this: your soul's been through the whole life cycle, kid, teen, then grandpa vibes. Same thing happens when you die; you just switch bodies. Real Gs don't stress about that.

Verse 14

Hey Arjuna, senses vibin' with stuff creates heat, cold, good feels, and bad feels. It's all temporary, it comes and goes. Deal with it, bro.

Verse 15

That dude, that total chill dude, who's, like, totally unaffected by all the drama—pleasure and pain are the same to him—that's the dude who's gonna achieve immortality.

Verse 16

Fake stuff ain't real, period. Real stuff is always real. Truth-seekers already know this.

Verse 17

Yo, listen up, that which is everywhere, that's the indestructible stuff. No cap, no one can, like, *ever* destroy that, the ultimate GOAT.

Verse 18

These bodies? Yeah, they're totally finite, even tho the real you—the Self—is eternal, indestructible, and, like, *infinite*. So fight, Arjuna. No cap.

Verse 19

Whoever thinks the Self is the slayer, and whoever thinks it's the one getting slayed—both of them are totally clueless. The Self doesn't slay, and it can't be slayed.

Verse 20

It's not born, doesn't ever die. It's always been, always will be. It's unborn, eternal, unchanging, ancient AF. Killing the body doesn't kill it.

Verse 21

If you actually *know* that the Self is indestructible, eternal, unborn, and unlimited, then how could you ever, like, *kill* anyone, Arjuna?

Verse 22

Yo, it's like this: just as a dude sheds his busted threads for a fresh new look, the embodied self ditches its old, played-out bodies and slides into some new ones.

Verse 23

No cap, weapons can't cut it, fire can't burn it, water can't wet it, and wind can't dry it.

Verse 24

This Self? Uncuttable, unburnable, un-wettable, undryable. It's eternal, omnipresent, stable, unmovable, and ancient.

Verse 25

This Self? It's like, totally unmanifested, unthinkable, and unchanging. So, knowing that, don't be a crybaby.

Verse 26

Yo, Arjuna, even if you're tripping and think this whole 'Self' thing is, like, constantly being born and dying, it's NBD. Don't be a crybaby.

Verse 27

Dude, birth is a total given, and death is, like, a guaranteed thing. So, don't be all emo about it, it's gonna happen no matter what.

Verse 28

Arjuna, it's like this: Everything starts as nothing, then it's here, then it's gone again. No biggie. Why you gotta be so sad?

Verse 29

One's all, like, 'OMG, the Self is wild!' Another's like, 'Yeah, it's totally cray-cray!' Another's all, 'I heard it's insane!' But, like, no cap, no one actually gets it.

Verse 30

Yo Arjuna, that inner dude in everyone? Total immortal vibe. So don't sweat any creature's demise.

Verse 31

Bro, you gotta do your thing, no cap. There ain't nothin' more lit for a Kshatriya than a righteous war.

Verse 32

Arjuna, lowkey, Kshatriyas are blessed. This battle? It's like, a heaven-door just swung wide open for them. It's all good vibes.

Verse 33

But if you're not gonna fight this righteous war, then you're gonna be a total scrub, ditching your duty and rep, and racking up major karma debt.

Verse 34

People are gonna be dragging you forever, and for someone who was, like, totally famous, that's worse than death.

Verse 35

No cap, the big-shot warriors are gonna think you're a total scaredy-cat and bailed on the battle. The peeps who were all about you? Yeah, they're gonna be majorly side-eyeing you.

Verse 36

Yo, your haters are gonna clown you, throwing mad shade and dissing your power. What's more brutal than that?

Verse 37

Die? Heaven's yours. Win? Earth's yours. So get up, Kunti's son, and fight!

Verse 38

Whatever, dude. Make pleasure and pain, profit and loss, winning and losing all the same. Just fight, for the sake of fighting. You won't get any karma points for it.

Verse 39

Yo, Arjuna, this Sankhya wisdom I just dropped on you? That's just the beginning. Now listen up, 'cause I'm 'bout to give you the lowdown on Yoga. With this knowledge, you're gonna ditch the whole karma baggage, for real.

Verse 40

No cap, there's zero loss, no bad vibes, no slip-ups. Even a little bit of this knowledge keeps you safe from major freak-outs.

Verse 41

Yo, Kuru prince, it's all about that single-minded focus. Indecisive peeps got, like, a million thoughts going on, no cap.

Verse 42

These peeps, so not woke, are all about the flowery language in the Vedas, spittin' fire about how there's nothing else, Arjuna.

Verse 43

These peeps, totally obsessed with the clout, tryna reach heaven. Their whole life's a flex, all about the grind for power and pleasure, reincarnation and all that. They're all about the hustle, laying out the steps to get that bag.

Verse 44

For those who are, like, *obsessed* with pleasure and power, whose minds are totally distracted, their minds can't even focus on meditation and Samadhi. No cap.

Verse 45

Yo, Arjuna, the Vedas are all about those three basic energies, but you gotta rise above that noise. Let go of all the opposites, stay in that good-vibes-only Sattva mode, and don't sweat the gains or losses. Just focus on yourself, fam.

Verse 46

For a Brahmana who's got self-knowledge on lock, the Vedas are as useful as a flooded reservoir. No cap.

Verse 47

Your only job is to do the thing, not to stress about the results. Don't be obsessed with what you get, and don't be a total couch potato.

Verse 48

Arjun, my guy, stay yoked into yoga, ditch the attachment drama, and keep it even-keeled win or lose. That's what yoga's all about.

Verse 49

Arjuna, bruh, actions are, like, totally basic compared to the yoga of wisdom. Seek wisdom, fam. Anyone who's all about the rewards is straight-up cringe.

Verse 50

Yo, if you're all wise and chill, you're gonna ditch the good and bad deeds in this life. So get into yoga, it's all about being a pro at this life thing.

Verse 51

No cap, wise peeps who are all about knowledge, they ditch the whole reward thing, and since they're free from the rebirth loop, they straight-up ascend to that place where it's all good vibes.

Verse 52

When your brain finally escapes the total mind-boggling mess of delusion, you'll be totally chill about what you've heard and what's still to come.

Verse 53

When ur mind is, like, low-key confused by all the Vedic stuff u've read, and it finally becomes, like, totally still and focused on the Self, then u will achieve self-realization.

Verse 54

Arjuna said, "Yo Krishna, spill the tea on what a guru who's totally in the zone looks like. How do they talk, sit, and walk? Hit me with the deets."

Verse 55

The OG Lord said, "Yo, Arjuna, when you completely ditch all the mind-junk desires and are, like, totally content within yourself, that's when you're a straight-up wisdom ninja."

Verse 56

Yo, the person who's totally unfazed by drama, doesn't crave the good life, and is free of attachment, fear, and anger? That's a straight-up sage, my dude.

Verse 57

That dude, existing everywhere, totally detached, doesn't even trip over good or bad stuff. No biggie, no hype. Their wisdom? On lock.

Verse 58

When, like, a turtle retracts all its limbs, a Yogi does the same with their senses. Then, their wisdom is, like, totally on point.

Verse 59

Okay, so like, for real, when you're all about self-control, the senses are, like, 'peace out.' The cravings are gone too. But when you see the Supreme Being, even those cravings are, like, 'bye felicia.'

Verse 60

Arjuna, those crazy senses? They're gonna snatch your mind, even if you're, like, *really* trying to stay focused. No cap.

Verse 61

Okay, so like, you gotta totally slay your senses, then chill and be all about me. The person who's got their senses on lock? Their wisdom is straight fire.

Verse 62

Yo, thinking 'bout stuff makes you crave it. Craving leads to wanting it real bad, and that wanting turns into straight-up rage.

Verse 63

Anger? It's a total brain-fry. You lose your memory, then you lose your mind, and then it's game over.

Verse 64

But like, a person who's got their act together, who's moving through life, keeping it low-key with their senses, not getting too attached or stressed – that person is straight-up chill.

Verse 65

In that chill vibe, all the bad vibes are gone, cuz a calm mind is a steady mind.

Verse 66

No knowledge of the self for the unstable, no meditation for the unstable, no peace for the unmeditative, and how can there be happiness for one who has no peace?

Verse 67

For real, the mind follows the senses, which are all over the place, and that totally messes up your judgment. It's like, the wind just snatches a boat on the water – no cap.

Verse 68

So, Arjuna, my dude, the person who's got their senses totally under control? Their knowledge is straight fire.

Verse 69

When everyone's sleeping, the self-controlled dude is totally awake. When everyone's awake, that's when the wise one is sleeping.

Verse 70

Yo, whoever's totally unbothered by all the cravings, that's the one who's chill. It's like, all the desires flow into them, like water into the ocean, and they're still totally unfazed. But not the peeps who are all about the desires.

Verse 71

The person who ditches all their wants, vibes without yearning, and has zero sense of ownership or ego? Yeah, that's the one who finds inner peace.

Verse 72

Yo, Pritha's son, this Brahmic state is the ultimate truth, the OG vibe. Hit this level, and you're never gonna be confused. Stay locked in, and you'll achieve oneness with Brahman, even when you're about to check out.
