Verse 2.15

यं हि न व्यथयन्त्येते पुरुषं पुरुषर्षभ। समदुःखसुखं धीरं सोऽमृतत्वाय कल्पते।।2.15।।

yaṁ hi na vyathayantyete puruṣhaṁ puruṣharṣhabha sama-duḥkha-sukhaṁ dhīraṁ so ’mṛitatvāya kalpate

Meaning

That dude, that total chill dude, who's, like, totally unaffected by all the drama—pleasure and pain are the same to him—that's the dude who's gonna achieve immortality.

Commentary

Yo, like, the cause of all your feels, of pleasure and pain? It's 'cause you're all, like, 'I am my body.' But the more you're vibing with that eternal, all-powerful Self, the less those good/bad vibes are gonna hit you. Developing that chill, that ability to endure whatever life throws at you—heat, cold, pleasure, pain—that's key. It's like, a total power move. It's one of those six sick virtues, and it's essential for that true knowledge. It won't get you to enlightenment on its own, but with some self-awareness and chill, it's a total game changer. It's like, the path to immortality, you know?
