Verse 2.51
कर्मजं बुद्धियुक्ता हि फलं त्यक्त्वा मनीषिणः। जन्मबन्धविनिर्मुक्ताः पदं गच्छन्त्यनामयम्।।2.51।।
karma-jaṁ buddhi-yuktā hi phalaṁ tyaktvā manīṣhiṇaḥ janma-bandha-vinirmuktāḥ padaṁ gachchhanty-anāmayam
Meaning
No cap, wise peeps who are all about knowledge, they ditch the whole reward thing, and since they're free from the rebirth loop, they straight-up ascend to that place where it's all good vibes.
Commentary
Yo, so like, clinging to the fruits of your actions is, like, totally the reason you gotta keep being reborn. It's all about enjoying that stuff, right? But if you're doing stuff for the divine, like, purely for the divine's purpose, without being all selfish about it, then you're totally free from the cycle of birth and death. You hit that blissful state, that immortal vibe. Real OG sages, they're chill AF, they don't sweat the results, and that's how they escape the whole good-bad karma drama. The 'buddhi' thing in these verses (49, 50, and 51)? That's like, Sankhya wisdom, you know, that self-knowledge, that AtmaJnana. It only hits you when you've purified your mind through Karma Yoga.
