Three Types of Faith: The Vibe Check Yoga
Krishna is spilling the tea on three types of faith, each linked to a different material world vibe. Your faith level totally dictates your life and who you are. Passion and ignorance? That's all about short-term gains and material stuff. Goodness? That's following the rules, purifying your soul, and leveling up your life.
Verse 1
Arjuna said, "Yo Krishna, what's the deal with people who, like, totally ignore the rules in the scriptures but still do their sacrifices with faith? Is that Sattva, Rajas, or Tamas?"
Verse 2
The OG Lord said, "Yo, there are three types of beliefs, based on your energy: sattvic (pure), rajasic (passionate), and tamasic (dark). Listen up."
Verse 3
Yo Arjuna, everyone's beliefs are totally based on their personality. It's like, your faith is your whole identity. Basically, what you believe is who you are.
Verse 4
Bet. Pure peeps worship the gods. Passionate peeps worship Yakshas and Rakshasas. Confused peeps worship ghosts and nature spirits.
Verse 5
People who do crazy, unauthorized austerities, all about the fake-deep vibes and ego, driven by lust and attachment are, like, totally sus.
Verse 6
Yo, know that these peeps are straight-up demon vibes, senselessly wreckin' their bodies and totally disrespectin' me, the one vibin' inside them.
Verse 7
Yo, there are three types of food, sacrifices, austerities, and charity, and they're all, like, totally different vibes. Listen up.
Verse 8
Foods that give you life, purity, strength, health, joy, and good vibes—the tasty, oily, filling, and satisfying ones—are totally the fave of pure peeps.
Verse 9
Bitter, sour, salty, fire-hot, pungent, dry, and straight-up burning food? Yeah, Rajasic peeps are obsessed. It's gonna hit you with pain, sadness, and sickness.
Verse 10
Yo, Tamasic people are all about that straight-up nasty food. Like, day-old, expired, rotten, and totally gross. It's the food equivalent of a dumpster fire.
Verse 11
A sacrifice that's, like, totally pure? It's all about doing your duty, no reward expected, following the rules, and having that unshakeable faith. No cap.
Verse 12
Arjuna, listen up: any sacrifice performed for clout, rewards, or to show off is a straight-up Rajasic Yajna. No cap.
Verse 13
Yo, they're sayin' a sacrifice is total Tamasic cringe if it's, like, totally against the rules, no food's shared, and it's totally lacking mantras, gifts, and faith.
Verse 14
Showing love to the gods, the OG twice-born, teachers, and wise peeps; staying clean, being real, celibacy, and zero violence—that's body-based self-discipline.
Verse 15
No cap, low-key speech that's all facts, positive, and helpful is, like, the ultimate Veda study flex.
Verse 16
Peace of mind, good vibes only, self-control, and pure intentions—that's what they call mental self-discipline.
Verse 17
This whole 'threefold austerity' thing? It's like, the ultimate flex if you're committed, no reward needed. It's called being 'Sattvic,' and it's low-key fire.
Verse 18
Austerity done to get likes, fame, and worship? With a side of major hypocrisy? Yeah, that's Rajasic, unstable, and temporary, no cap.
Verse 19
Yo, any austerity that's all about some messed-up notion, self-harm, or trying to diss someone else? Total tamasic energy. No cap.
Verse 20
Giving something to someone who ain't gonna give you nothin' back, but it's the right thing to do, at the right time, and to the right person? That's a total sattvic move.
Verse 21
Giving something only to get something back, or for clout, or cause you're forced to? Yeah, that's straight-up Rajasic.
Verse 22
Giving stuff to the wrong people at the wrong time, no respect, or even being a total jerk about it? That's some straight-up Tamasic energy.
Verse 23
'Om Tat Sat'—that's the ultimate three-word drop about Brahman. It's how the Brahmanas, the Vedas, and all the rituals got started, way back when.
Verse 24
So, yeah, you gotta start all your sacrifices, gifts, and austerities—the stuff the scriptures say—by saying 'Om.' It's the ultimate flex for Brahman students.
Verse 25
Dropping a 'Tat' without chasing the clout? That's how you do sacrifices, austerities, and gifts, fam. It's all about that liberation.
Verse 26
'Sat' means, like, the real deal, the good stuff, and also, like, a totally fire action, Arjuna.
Verse 27
Staying 💯 committed to your sacrifices, self-discipline, and gifts? That's 'Sat', fam. And if you're doing all that for the Supreme Being, that's also 'Sat'. No cap.
Verse 28
Whatever you sacrifice, give, or do, and whatever austerities you practice without actually believing in it? It's called 'Asat,' Arjuna. It's useless, both now and in the afterlife. No cap.
