Verse 17.24

तस्मादोमित्युदाहृत्य यज्ञदानतपःक्रियाः।प्रवर्तन्ते विधानोक्ताः सततं ब्रह्मवादिनाम्।।17.24।।

tasmād oṁ ity udāhṛitya yajña-dāna-tapaḥ-kriyāḥ pravartante vidhānoktāḥ satataṁ brahma-vādinām

Meaning

So, yeah, you gotta start all your sacrifices, gifts, and austerities—the stuff the scriptures say—by saying 'Om.' It's the ultimate flex for Brahman students.

Commentary

Okay, so like, peeps who are, like, *really* into the scriptures, they've got this major Om vibe going on in their heads, you know? It's all about that meditation, and then they drop the Pranava with, like, *total* feels. Then, they're all, 'Om,' and they do their sacrifices. It's like, a hiking stick is clutch for climbing a hill, or a boat is essential for crossing a river—Om is that essential for starting anything, especially a sacrifice. It's not about ditching sacrifices to, like, *totally* connect with the divine. It's about being all in, surrendering everything to God. Sacrifices, charity, and austerity aren't roadblocks to self-realization; they're actually shortcuts, as long as you're not doing it for clout or ego.
