Verse 9.16
अहं क्रतुरहं यज्ञः स्वधाऽहमहमौषधम्। मंत्रोऽहमहमेवाज्यमहमग्निरहं हुतम्।।9.16।।
ahaṁ kratur ahaṁ yajñaḥ svadhāham aham auṣhadham mantro ’ham aham evājyam aham agnir ahaṁ hutam
Meaning
I'm Kratu, I'm Yajna, I'm the offering to the ancestors. I'm the herbs and plants, I'm the Mantra, I'm the ghee, I'm the fire, and I'm the oblation. It's all me.
Commentary
Kratu is like, a super old school Vedic sacrifice, no cap. Yajna? That's straight up worship, based on the Smriti, the OG rule book. I'm the Mantra, the hype chant you drop when you're offering to your ancestors or the gods. Hutam is all about that offering action. Aushadham? That's all the plants, including the rice and barley, and any medicine that's gonna cure your ills. (See 4.24 for more deets).
