Verse 8.22

पुरुषः स परः पार्थ भक्त्या लभ्यस्त्वनन्यया। यस्यान्तःस्थानि भूतानि येन सर्वमिदं ततम्।।8.22।।

puruṣhaḥ sa paraḥ pārtha bhaktyā labhyas tvananyayā yasyāntaḥ-sthāni bhūtāni yena sarvam idaṁ tatam

Meaning

Yo, Arjuna, listen up. To reach the ultimate Purusha, the GOAT, you gotta be 100% devoted, no cap. This dude is in everything, and everything is in him. It's lit.

Commentary

Okay, so like, everything is vibing within the Purusha, the ultimate Supreme Being, the OG cause of everything. It's like, the clay to the pot, you know? The Purusha is the ultimate source, and everything, including us and the whole universe, is totally within it. Sankara's saying that total devotion is all about knowing your true self, that's the key. Purusha is called that because it's, like, totally filling everything, or because it's chilling in everyone's bodies. No cap, it's the highest being, period.
