adhiyajñaḥ kathaṁ ko ’tra dehe ’smin madhusūdana prayāṇa-kāle cha kathaṁ jñeyo ’si niyatātmabhiḥ
Meaning
Yo, Madhusudana, who or what is this Adhiyajna thing in this body? And how do I, like, totally connect with you when I'm about to kick the bucket?
Commentary
Yo, Krishna, Arjuna's dropping some serious knowledge bombs. Seven burning questions, fam. 1. What's the real deal with Brahman? Is it the whole shebang with all the extra stuff, or just the pure, unadulterated essence? 2. Is it all about the senses, or is it that individual consciousness thing? Or something totally different? 3. What's the lowdown on Karma? Is it all about those rituals, or is it something else entirely? 4. Adhibhuta is all about the elements, right? But is it just that, or is there more to it? 5. Adhidaiva is about the gods, but is it just meditating on them, or is it something deeper, like that cosmic consciousness vibe? 6. Adhiyajna is about those rituals, but is it the ultimate Supreme Being, or some specific deity? Is it the same thing, or totally different? Is it in the body, or outside? If it's in the body, is it the intellect, or something else? 7. When it's all over, when the brain's fried and the senses are dead, how does someone with a laser focus on the divine connect with the Lord? Madhusudana, you're a total lifesaver, you slayed Madhu, and you're all about solving problems. You can totally clear up my confusion, no sweat. It's nothing for you, you know-it-all.
