Verse 8.19

भूतग्रामः स एवायं भूत्वा भूत्वा प्रलीयते। रात्र्यागमेऽवशः पार्थ प्रभवत्यहरागमे।।8.19।।

bhūta-grāmaḥ sa evāyaṁ bhūtvā bhūtvā pralīyate rātryāgame ’vaśhaḥ pārtha prabhavatyahar-āgame

Meaning

This whole universe of beings, bruh, is constantly being reborn and dying, like, totally involuntarily, Arjuna. It's like, at the end of the day, everything dissolves into the Unmanifested, and then, boom, it all comes back again at the start of a new day. It's a wild ride.

Commentary

Yo, Arjuna, the three main things binding peeps to this crazy cycle of life, death, and rebirth are ignorance, desire, and actions. Ignorance breeds desire, which leads to all sorts of actions. These actions create karma, both good and bad, causing peeps to get stuck in this endless loop. It's like, you're constantly being reborn, reaping what you sow, whether you like it or not. It's a total vibe check, and peeps are totally helpless against it. The Lord is dropping truth bombs to help peeps escape this never-ending cycle and realize that they're not responsible for things outside their control.
