Verse 7.23
अन्तवत्तु फलं तेषां तद्भवत्यल्पमेधसाम्। देवान्देवयजो यान्ति मद्भक्ता यान्ति मामपि।।7.23।।
antavat tu phalaṁ teṣhāṁ tad bhavatyalpa-medhasām devān deva-yajo yānti mad-bhaktā yānti mām api
Meaning
No cap, people with small brains get limited rewards. People who worship gods go to those gods, but my devotees? They come to me.
Commentary
Okay, so like, the effort is the same, but people are low-key tripping. They should totally worship the Supreme Being for, like, *infinite* rewards, you know? But peeps with, like, *tiny* brains who worship lesser gods? Yeah, they get small, temporary rewards. Think, like, yajnas, homas, and tapas—those are temporary. Only escaping the cycle of reincarnation gets you eternal chill. Worshiping Indra and stuff? That's sattvic. Yakshas and Rakshasas? Rajasic. Bhutas and Pretas? Tamasic. Worshiping small gods? Their knowledge is, like, totally incomplete. It won't get you liberation. (See 9.25)
