Verse 7.20

कामैस्तैस्तैर्हृतज्ञानाः प्रपद्यन्तेऽन्यदेवताः। तं तं नियममास्थाय प्रकृत्या नियताः स्वया।।7.20।।

kāmais tais tair hṛita-jñānāḥ prapadyante ’nya-devatāḥ taṁ taṁ niyamam āsthāya prakṛityā niyatāḥ svayā

Meaning

Those whose minds are totally consumed by this or that desire, end up worshipping other gods, following whatever rituals they vibe with, based on their own nature.

Commentary

Bro, those who are all about the benjamins, mini-mes, or clout, are totally clueless. They're all up in the worship of other low-key gods like Indra, Mitra, and Varuna, all because of their past life karma and vibes. They do rituals to please these lesser deities. It's like, IX.23, fam.
