Verse 4.37

यथैधांसि समिद्धोऽग्निर्भस्मसात्कुरुतेऽर्जुन। ज्ञानाग्निः सर्वकर्माणि भस्मसात्कुरुते तथा।।4.37।।

yathaidhānsi samiddho ’gnir bhasma-sāt kurute ’rjuna jñānāgniḥ sarva-karmāṇi bhasma-sāt kurute tathā

Meaning

Yo, Arjuna, knowledge is fire, and it straight-up ashes all your actions.

Commentary

It's like, yo, roasted seeds can't sprout, right? Same with actions burned by knowledge; they're, like, totally useless. No more karmic baggage, fam. It's about that self-knowledge, that's the fire that incinerates all that past stuff. No more 'I did this,' no more chasing results. It's all about that inner peace. The only thing that might stick around is Prarabdha Karma, that stuff that got you here in the first place. But even *that* might get fried, depending on who you ask. Sankara's all, 'Nah, even *that* goes poof when you reach enlightenment.' There's Prarabdha (this life's karma), Sanchita (the whole backlog), and Agami (what you're doing now). If only Sanchita and Agami got zapped, they'd use the dual, not the plural. It's all about the grammar, fam.
