Meaning
Whatever happens, happens. No stressing about good or bad, winning or losing. Just doing your thing, but not being attached to the outcome.
Commentary
Okay, so like, the sage is totally chill with whatever happens, no biggie. Verses 4.18-4.23 are all about, like, the results of knowing your true self – it's beyond all that action stuff. If you're vibing with your true self, which is totally action-free, then you're not gonna be stuck in the cycle of life and death, because all that karma stuff is, like, totally burned up by knowing your true self. It's like, a seed that's been burned – it ain't gonna sprout, right? Same with karma – once it's burned up by self-knowledge, it can't create future lives. People might think the sage is still doing stuff, acting all agent-y, but that's totally wrong. From their perspective, they're not doing anything at all. They're like, 'I do nothing, nature does it all.' They're not affected by hot or cold, good or bad, win or lose – they're always balanced. They don't even care about the stuff they need to survive. It's like, they're feeling that ultimate bliss, so they don't even trip about food or anything. They're just vibing in that ultimate reality.
