Verse 3.39

आवृतं ज्ञानमेतेन ज्ञानिनो नित्यवैरिणा। कामरूपेण कौन्तेय दुष्पूरेणानलेन च।।3.39।।

āvṛitaṁ jñānam etena jñānino nitya-vairiṇā kāma-rūpeṇa kaunteya duṣhpūreṇānalena cha

Meaning

Yo, Arjuna, this insatiable fire of desire is, like, *totally* messing with your wisdom. It's a total buzzkill for anyone trying to be smart.

Commentary

Bro, Manu's sayin' desire is like, *never* satisfied. It's like, the more you feed that fire (aka, your cravings), the bigger it gets. Even if you, like, owned *everything* – all the food, bling, hotties, the whole shebang – you'd *still* be wanting more. Dumbasses think desire's their bestie, all 'treat yo self,' but smart peeps know it's a total vibe killer, bringing only pain and suffering. So, yeah, it's the enemy of the wise, not the clueless.
