Verse 18.53
अहङ्कारं बलं दर्पं कामं क्रोधं परिग्रहम्।विमुच्य निर्ममः शान्तो ब्रह्मभूयाय कल्पते।।18.53।।
ahankāraṁ balaṁ darpaṁ kāmaṁ krodhaṁ parigraham vimuchya nirmamaḥ śhānto brahma-bhūyāya kalpate
Meaning
Yo, ditch the ego, the flexing, the arrogance, the thirst, the anger, and the need to own everything. If you're chill and not all possessive, then you're ready to become Brahman.
Commentary
OK, so like, ego? Forget that. Also, ditch the flexing, the arrogance, the thirst, the anger, and the need to hoard stuff. If you're chill and not all 'mine, mine, mine,' then you're basically ready to become one with the universe, or whatever.
