Verse 18.24

यत्तु कामेप्सुना कर्म साहङ्कारेण वा पुनः।क्रियते बहुलायासं तद्राजसमुदाहृतम्।।18.24।।

yat tu kāmepsunā karma sāhankāreṇa vā punaḥ kriyate bahulāyāsaṁ tad rājasam udāhṛitam

Meaning

Yo, any action you do 'cause you're thirsty for clout, or tryna get ahead, and you're all about yourself? That's straight-up passionate energy.

Commentary

Bro, a passionate dude is all about selfish acts, flexing on everyone. It's all about the reward for them; they can't do anything without expecting something in return. Like, a Rajasic person is all, 'This is MY achievement!' A chill sage is totally different; they're not even thinking about rewards because they're already living their best life. They're good to go. Even if you're doing something good, if you're all about yourself, you're still egotistical. Rajasic and Tamasic people? Even more egotistical. It's like, you know that super humble, chill brahmin? Yeah, that's not them.
