Verse 18.19

ज्ञानं कर्म च कर्ता च त्रिधैव गुणभेदतः।प्रोच्यते गुणसंख्याने यथावच्छृणु तान्यपि।।18.19।।

jñānaṁ karma cha kartā cha tridhaiva guṇa-bhedataḥ prochyate guṇa-saṅkhyāne yathāvach chhṛiṇu tāny api

Meaning

Okay, so like, in the Sankhya system, knowledge, actions, and the actor? They all come in three flavors, based on the gunas. Listen up, fam.

Commentary

Yo, the three gunas are like, totally vibing everywhere, controlling everything. It's all about the vibes, fam. Like, your actions, you as the actor, and your knowledge? They're all gonna be one of three types, depending on which guna is dominating. If it's all sattvic, then you're good, no karma baggage. Karta? That's you, the one doing stuff. This whole guna thing is straight from Kapila's philosophy. Even though Sankhya and Vedanta are kinda beefing about the ultimate truth, Sankhya is low-key the GOAT when it comes to gunas. I'm 'bout to drop some knowledge on you, Arjuna, about knowledge, action, and the actor, and how the gunas make them all different. Listen up, this is gonna be fire.
