Verse 14.6

तत्र सत्त्वं निर्मलत्वात्प्रकाशकमनामयम्।सुखसङ्गेन बध्नाति ज्ञानसङ्गेन चानघ।।14.6।।

tatra sattvaṁ nirmalatvāt prakāśhakam anāmayam sukha-saṅgena badhnāti jñāna-saṅgena chānagha

Meaning

Yo, out of all the vibes, Sattva is, like, the purest, most lit one, but it's also a total mind trap, no cap. It's all about getting you hooked on happiness and knowledge, making you obsessed with being the best. It's a total flex, but it's also a major bind.

Commentary

Okay, so Sattva is like, totally pure, no cap. It's this vibe that's all glowy and healthy because it's, like, *so* pure. But it's also a total trap, bro. It's all about getting you hooked on happiness and knowledge. It's like, a *sick* golden cage. A Sattva person is always comparing themselves, flexing on others, and being all, 'I'm so smart, I'm so happy.' It's all ego, and that's what binds them. They think their happiness and knowledge are part of their true selves, but it's not. It's all surface level stuff. Rajas and Tamas are also total pitfalls, so watch out. This whole 'happiness' thing is an illusion, a total mind game. It's all ignorance. You can't just slap attributes of the world onto your true self. All that stuff – desires, firmness, the whole shebang – that's all just part of the material world, not your soul. Because of this ignorance, you can't tell the difference between what's real and what's not, what's permanent and what's not. Knowledge is part of your mind, not your soul. If it was part of your soul, it wouldn't trap you. Sattva traps you by making you obsessed with knowledge.
