Commentary
Okay, so like, the last verse was all about, like, three different ways to, like, achieve self-knowledge, right? Meditation, knowledge, and action. This verse is about another way: worship. It's like, some peeps are clueless about all that other stuff, but they hear about this Great Truth from someone else, and they're, like, totally down with it. They have, like, total faith, and they just vibe with it, and boom—they're immortal. It's like, they're totally devoted to their teacher or guru or whatever. Or, like, they read some books by enlightened peeps, and they're, like, super into it, and they live their lives according to it. And they also escape death. It's like, no matter what path you take, you'll eventually get to self-knowledge and escape the cycle of birth and death—total liberation, you know? There are, like, a bunch of different paths for different people, you know? Escaping ignorance and achieving self-knowledge is, like, escaping the whole cycle of life and death—it's immortality, total freedom, you know?
