Verse 11.39

वायुर्यमोऽग्निर्वरुणः शशाङ्कः प्रजापतिस्त्वं प्रपितामहश्च। नमो नमस्तेऽस्तु सहस्रकृत्वः पुनश्च भूयोऽपि नमो नमस्ते।।11.39।।

vāyur yamo ’gnir varuṇaḥ śhaśhāṅkaḥ prajāpatis tvaṁ prapitāmahaśh cha namo namas te ’stu sahasra-kṛitvaḥ punaśh cha bhūyo ’pi namo namas te

Meaning

Yo, you're Vayu, Yama, Agni, Varuna, the moon, the Creator, and the great-grandpa. I'm bowing down to you a thousand times, and then some. Seriously, I'm still bowing.

Commentary

Okay, so like, Prajapati, Marichi, and all those other dudes were Brahma's seven mind-born sons, total OG's. Kasyapa was Marichi's kid, and boom, everyone else came from him. So, yeah, Marichi, Kasyapa, and the whole crew are called Prajapatis—gods, ancestors, the whole shebang. Some peeps think Prajapati here means Kasyapa or other Prajapatis, but since it's singular, it's probs Brahma. Brahma's Kasyapa's grandpa (Pitamaha), but the real OG, Isvara, is Brahma's dad—the great-grandpa. Isvara's got Maya, his chill vibe, his causal body. Isvara's everywhere and nowhere. Maya's all balanced, until Isvara's like, 'Nah,' and then boom, Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva show up. 'Thou art the moon' is like, the sun too, NBD. 'Again, again' means Arjuna was, like, *obsessed* with Krishna. A thousand prostrations? Nah, not enough, fam.
