Verse 10.35
बृहत्साम तथा साम्नां गायत्री छन्दसामहम्। मासानां मार्गशीर्षोऽहमृतूनां कुसुमाकरः।।10.35।।
bṛihat-sāma tathā sāmnāṁ gāyatrī chhandasām aham māsānāṁ mārga-śhīrṣho ’ham ṛitūnāṁ kusumākaraḥ
Meaning
Amongst the hymns, I'm the Brihatsaman; for meters, it's Gayatri; for months, it's Margasirsha; and for seasons? Spring is where it's at.
Commentary
Okay, so Brihatsaman is like, the GOAT of Samaveda hymns. Brihat means major key. Margasirsha? That's like, December-January, total chill vibes. Back in the day, it was the OG month, number one. Kusumakara? Spring, that's the aesthetic.
