Verse 10.22
वेदानां सामवेदोऽस्मि देवानामस्मि वासवः। इन्द्रियाणां मनश्चास्मि भूतानामस्मि चेतना।।10.22।।
vedānāṁ sāma-vedo ’smi devānām asmi vāsavaḥ indriyāṇāṁ manaśh chāsmi bhūtānām asmi chetanā
Meaning
Among the Vedas, I'm the Sama-Veda, no cap. Among the gods, I'm Indra. I'm the mind among the senses, and among living beings, I'm the ultimate brainpower.
Commentary
Okay, so Vasava is like, totally Indra. And when it says "gods," think Rudras and Adityas—major players. Indriyas? We're talking five senses for knowing stuff (hearing, touch, sight, taste, smell) and five for doing stuff (talking, hands, feet, privates, and butt). The mind's the eleventh sense, the big cheese, 'cause senses can't work without it. Chetana? That's like, the ultimate brainpower, the thing that makes everything from your brain to your, like, toe jam work. It's the glow-up of everything.
