Verse 1.40

कुलक्षये प्रणश्यन्ति कुलधर्माः सनातनाः। धर्मे नष्टे कुलं कृत्स्नमधर्मोऽभिभवत्युत।।1.40।।

kula-kṣhaye praṇaśhyanti kula-dharmāḥ sanātanāḥ dharme naṣhṭe kulaṁ kṛitsnam adharmo ’bhibhavaty uta

Meaning

Yo, if a family gets totally wiped out, their ancient traditions are gone for good. And if their spirituality gets destroyed, total craziness takes over the whole fam.

Commentary

Okay, so like, if a fam's whole vibe gets wrecked, their ancient traditions? Poof, gone. And if their morals and values go down the drain, the whole fam gets consumed by total chaos and negativity. Dharma is all about following the rules and rituals passed down, you know, the fam's whole code.
